Welcome to the official Website of the
Syrian Association for Rheumatology (S.A.R)

This specialized medical association was founded in 1995 under the umbrella of the Syrian Medical Association.

It works at a national and local level with the objectives of combating and preventing Rheumatic diseases, improving awareness of rheumatic diseases among the public and patients, helping trainees to achieve high quality standards of care for patients suffering from Rheumatic diseases, disseminating knowledge about new development in Rheumatology and helping to strengthen relationships between Rheumatologists in Syria and Rheumatologists in other countries.

Members
S.A.R. has around 60 members. The majority of them are consultants and trainee rheumatologists.
Other members work in the fields of General Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgery, Rehabilitation Medicine, Laboratory and other fields.

Activities

  • SAR Events:
    • The members of the Council of S.A.R meet once every month.
    S.A.R runs two symposia each year mainly outside Damascus for educational purposes, participate in case presentations at different national hospitals in Damascus (conducted once every month) and participate in teaching courses.
  • Congresses:
    • S.A.R conducts a congress every cycle i.e. every 3 years.The next congress is:
    The 8th.Syrian Congress of Rheumatology
    Damascus,Dedeman Hotel , 20th to 22nd of October 2010.
